Part One: I live in northern Japan(snow for 4 months, rain for 2 months and the rest for riding)and was ready to retire from the fire dept in 2 years(1996). I was looking for a bike. I went to the Post Office and there was a red 1986 LS650 Savage with a for sale sign on it. It was very clean,$3,000.00. The year I bought it was 1994. Mileage was a bit high but the condition was very good. Owned 2 other Suzuki's in my high school years. I always thought Suzuki's were the best. I bought it. Kept it very clean and rode only when I knew the weather was good. I do not ride in the rain or if it looks like it. Found the Savage sit! It had been very hard since then to find custome parts for it. Still, I loved the bike. Cruiser when you wanted to, speed bike when you wanted to max out. Thats why this bike is so perfect! I liked to max out the bike in the country roads where they grow rice. Knowbody for miles. Retired and was having a good time with the stock bike. Went to the Savage sit to ask for help. Saw the pictures at the picture forum and now I was hooked. The year 2001. Got the itch to start customizing it. Asked the site for help. E-mailed all the owners at the picture forum of this site for their help on where they purchased their parts. No answers! The summer of 2001, I had given up hope for help and decided to sell the bike. Why keep it if I cann't customize it. I posted for help in Nov. 2001 for a muffler. Low and behold, I got an answer from Peter The Blacksmith!! In the few chapters that follow of this story he will not only become a good friend but he will become my brother!! Thank you Peter. All good Things!!
